Hostel Takes Shape

I see the proponents of the Humboldt Bay Hostel now have a web site to plug their cause. Nice looking project. Too bad this redevelopment business, at least in this case, seems to be focusing on the sell- trinkets- to- tourists and Education- Industrial Complex mentality. That aside, this looks like an interesting idea. I'm just wondering when the city and/ or county will be asking for another sales tax increase to make up for the money this project will suck up?

Why do we need a Hostel anyway? We already have enough cheapasses coming into this area, we don't need to ask for more.

That's what scares me leonidas, I see a low cost hostel becoming nothing more then a flophouse and a eurotrash trap. How about we get real jobs up here, like a LNG/LP plant? You know, something that pays money? Oh that's right, it's not eco-groovy enough.

Looking at the proposals for the project I would be hard pressed to call it low cost to build. Leonidas lived off grid for ten years and can tell you it ain't cheap. As long as the greenies can sell their "sustainablity" bullshit to a commission with its hands in the taxpayers pocket it doesn't matter though.
I don't know if you are the same anonymous who noticed that the water has reached the upper decks, but following the rats is an option

Oh god, I had thought he had learned to keep his mouth shut, but it looks like "Fhyre Phoenix" has sprouted off some worthless words to the Eureka Reporter today about the hostel. I don't know about you guys, but as soon as I see this "Man/myn/new pc word here" say anything about backing anything, it gets my down vote.

And in other news, I now go to vote with the "Walmart Law". Like Goodwin's law, I now lay claim that any talk of develpment of anything, will be attacked by the use of comparing it to Walmart NO MATTER WHAT THE PROJECT IS.
