Awesome!

As I write this there's something I've never seen before in the western sky: A double rainbow!

There's a perfect semi- circular rainbow off to the west right over the Matteoli's house with another perfect rainbow arching over the first one. The second one is a bit faded though. I've never seen anything like that in my 50+ years. Wow!

I don't know if it would of photographed well, but I couldn't put it on this computer, anyway, as the usb ports are not working. I suppose I could have put it on my old e-machines computer and e-mailed it to this one, but it's too late now.

They are difficult to photograph. I've seen them a few times. My softball buddy's got a picure of a triple rainbow seen at one of our tournaments. He of course is a professional photographer and had no problem capturing it on film.

Seems to me I've tried to photograph a couple rainbows in my life and the results were not impressive.

One night during a full moon while sailing between Grenada and Los Testigos, Venezuela we saw a "moonbow". The arc was like a rainbow but it had no colors, just several shades of grey. It too was awesome.

www.spaceweather.com should have links to good pictures of the same thing you saw.

So it was over the big 3 story blue house then?

No. Actually, it was over the pink house just to the south of the blue house. The pink house is the three story Victorian, next to the blue house.

What have you been doing, Kat, stalking me?

Well, at least you've been stalking the wrong house.

I'm honored, nonetheless.

:-)

LOL No stalking, I promise.

But I went to school with one of the kids. So I spent some birthday parties there. I always get the pink and blue houses mixed up, but I know which is their house.

There've been alot of small rainbows lately. A couple of weeks ago we saw a sunset rainbow, over the mountains on the way home between Arcata and McKinleyville. In all my life I had never seen a rainbow at sunset. It was cool.

Actually, I kinda do to, if for no other reason than the blue one isn't blue anymore. Didn't think of it when you wrote that.

Some years ago some outfit bought that house and turned it into a group home. They fixed it up quite a bit and had the whole thing painted. Now, it's kind of a tan type yellow color with a slightly darker trim. A lot nicer than it was, imo.

I ALSO SAW THE BEAUTIFUL DOUBLE RAINBOW. IT WAS AWESOME I WANTED TO TAKE A PICTURE BUT NO CAMERA COULD CAPTURE THE BEAUTY.
