Gallegos vs. Dikeman in SoHum

If anybody's interested, I just noticed the Redwood Times has coverage of the Gallegos/ Dikeman debate that took place in Garberville last Thursday.

He took the mask off to reveal what an evil lying whacko he is.

people in the courthouse say the public is finally seeing what they see - the temper and the meanness, instead of affable smiley Paul

How do you like pg's new spin, that excessive plea bargaining is a sign of his success. Isn't that just positively Orwellian. Would be funny if it weren't so serious.

I also noticed that in the League of Women Voter debate last night that Gallegos was not presenting the image he's worked so hard on...the laid back, affable, man of the people. Instead, his tone was angry, he seemed defensive, and at points, quite vicious.

Pointing at the camera and threatening to prosecute voters if they are involved in any unscrupulous business activities may not be the best approach either.

What was even more disconcerting was the impression that he had memorized certain portions of information, and then drew upon them to answer various questions, even when the answer was off point.

At the end, Gallegos appeared to entirely lose his composure; he kept trying to get out one word but repeatedly nothing but a sound came out.

Throughout the debate, there would be long pauses before Gallegos answered questions, where he would rather uncomfortably look down, smile, and then look up again and try to resume answering questions.

Gallegos looked particularly thrown off when one of the journalist said that he had been speaking to Gallegos's employees and that the comments they made to him described an office in utter chaos.

he's clueless

its a fact - all the employees support Dikeman.

Paul is an abusive and manipulative boss and people in the office are talking.

'bout damn time

caught a glimpse of what's behind the mask last night, maybe there's some truth to what 10:12 is saying. he was positively snarling last night

yea, not like that nice elderly man Mr. Dikeman. He seems really sweet.

Quite a bit nicer than Paul

Unless you don't agree with him, of course. Same with the cops. If your politics differs from theirs, you can kiss your equal protection good-bye.

You are full of it 8:05. If you break the law then Dikeman will do something. Quite a bit different than Gallegos who will go after you if you disagree with him or oppose him on anything.

Gallegos is like a 6 year old having a tantrum. That is what the debate showed. You can see why his employees call him abusive. God only knows what is going on in that office. No wonder people are terrified to speak out PUBLICLY. However, they sure are speaking out privately. Thats what Hank Simms said when he questioned Gallegos. He said he spoke with current and past employees who describe the office in utter chaos and him being abusive.

I am sincerely dissapointed in Hank Sims and the North Coast Journal. This week's smear piece on Ed Denson and Gallegos by an acknowledged "disgruntled worker" is just political smear campaign disguised as news. Hank is trying to recapture his moment of glory when he exposed Salzman. The Journal’s recent combo of bad journalism combined with a clear political agenda is readily transparent and repels any curiosity to read the fluffy bullcrap printed between its covers.

How are people supposed to trust people like Allison Jackson and Dikeman, who claim they are there to support victims of crime, but whose allegiance to the law and people's rights end if there is political advantage to be gained? Jackson provided confidential documents to the media in order to damage Gallegos. Crime victims are already distrustful of the system, and stunts like hers only discredits her position.

Looked to me like the crime occurred when pg fired an employee to protect his buddy, and then contacted the buddy to have him 'fix' the evidence, rather than investigating him.

I think the guy ought to be disbarred.

No one can trust the system when you have a corrupt DA using his office to persecute his enemies, and dispense favors to his contributors.

Jackson apparently didn't feel strongly enough about it to report it to the bar, but she will spread unsubstantiated allegations to smear Gallegos while Dikeman backs her up.

from what i read, once gallegos failed to secure any evidence, there was nothing to report to the bar. that article was very unclear, but reading between the lines, i'd say there is alot more to the story, and people i've talked to who know law say it is very clear what was done, and that it is devastating for gallegos because he covered it up

the journal has always been ultra ultra pro gallegos. Must've been hard to write that story.

And if it is true 11:58?

At 7:40 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Look at Wes Keat's response. He said he remembered it. He said he was shocked and he said he didn't know why Paul chose to do nothing about it.

Wow - that says a lot.

And from what the article says - it was all substantiated with the emails and all of the other documents.

10:10 pm you are out of it. Hank is a god for writing that piece. It is fair and relies on court documents and e-mails sent to and from her. Say confidential all you want but thats not confidential stuff buddy.

And you would have this covered up. Yeah you and Richard Nixon. Someone honest busts your puppets balls and you come after the honest one

I thought anon.r.mous was the god?

Hank is the only investigative journalist.

Well thank god he did this piece - It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what went on and why.

CORRUPTION AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL.

Well, the guy should scratch off "integrity" and "justice for all" off his signs.

anyone who criticizes Gallegos gets attacked, any reporter who dares to say "there's something wrong here" gets attacked.

Gallegos practices scorched earth politics and squelches dissent.

As it should be.

Hank is a jerk. Everyone knows it.
