T-S Picks Neely
I suppose it comes as no surprise that the Times- Standard would endorse Bonnie Neely in the race for fourth district supervisor. I found it odd that, also in today's paper, was a story on Sheriff Gary Philp endorsing Neely. I thought he'd already done that months ago.
Or maybe I got that impression because his name was on Neely's list of supporters when her campaign web page went up? Oh well. No big deal either way, I guess.

Hey Fred, when is that TS/Measure T debate?
Bonnie was endorsed eight years ago by Nancy Flemming and her campaign chair Harvey Harper. Now Sheriff Philip and the TS. Next the ER and Journal. Democrats and Republicans. Rich, Poor. Odd Even. I wonder who wins this race?

I don't know. Apparently they don't either as they announced the debate again yesterday (or was it the day before?) but just said the date and time is yet to be determined.
I'll let you know when they finally decide when it's going to be.
can anyone figure some consistency in the times-standard's picks? gallegos, neely, geist, alls i can see is "we love incumbents, challengers go home."
I think that's pretty much the way it is with the Times- Standard. I think most on the editorial staff are left leaning, but more than anything else they're pretty much statist.
In other words, they seem to generally support the status quo, or so it seems to me from reading the T-S through the years.
I'm not saying they ALWAYS support the status quo, just usually. Then again, to be fair, most voters do too. That's why incumbents have such an advantage.

Again: Status quo, as most people go along with. "Left leaning" is appropriate, as I see it. Most writers are.
No problem with that, in and of itself, but I think it's true.
The t-s endorsed Rex Bohn as well.

Duh - I wonder who the Arkley Reporter will endorse?
My bet is that they will refrain. Seems to be the most prudent as anyone that they might endorse would be labelled.

Who will the Journal endorse? The Eye? The Mckinleyville Press? The Independent? The EcoNews? The Senior News? El Heraldo? The Beacon? Fred?
I've been told the Journal is "moving away" from doing endorsements.
The Eye? Hoover's already come out in support of Measure T.
Mckinleyville Press? Do they do endorsements? I don't know.
The Independent? No way of knowing as I haven't found them available online. Anyone know of a link?
EcoNews? Do they do endorsements?
Senior News? I'd be surprised of they do endorsements, but I don't know.
El Heraldo? No se.
The Beacon? Yeah, wonder what they'll endorse, if anything. I saw somewhere where they finally got a web page. Anyone know if they started adding content to it?
