The Humboldt Sentinel Recommends

I just noticed Charles Douglas' Humboldt Sentinel made some election recommendations a few days ago. He got a couple of them right: No On T and Jeff Lytle for Fifth District Supervisor, assuming that wouldn't have been a wasted effort. Charles needs to update his page more often so he can really make a difference.

Why was Lytle a good choice?

Why was Lytle a good choice?

Because he's supposedly a libertarian, or at least has said he is.

Interesting how Sentinel endorsements were the exact opposite of Arcata Eye picks like Dikeman, T, Geist, etc. I didn't see any other papers back underdogs Lytle or Marks.

So the TS isn't alone among the papers in endorsing Gallegos.

Sentinel endorsements were put up there to give the appearance of being a progressive web site.

It is in fact a classic disinformation site that is back- firing on the people behind it.

Admit it Charles, you like to pick up a lil sidework blasting the DA.

Holy Sh-t, Charles, just put your name on it, son.

Anon 3:58, more Michael Smith fruit-loop fun! Teach us more about your conspiracy theory like who is behind it all? Rob Arkley? CIA? Aliens? Lizardmen from the hollow earth? I should ask Charles Douglas himself but he must be awfuly busy with human sacrifices to BAAL in the Bohemian Grove to empower his secret disinformation cult.

it still shocks me how any so-called liberal can support jill geist. the pandering to incumbents is disgusting.

Charles Douglas is a classic kook.

He has a long history of slithering under rocks trying to control and manipulate in Humboldt County, but he is so fucking stupid and/or crazy that he is constantly exposed.

Then he runs away and hides for a bit, then comes back to repeat the cycle.

The only thing new is a blog that he pretends is a newspaper.

Bob Ornleas called it-- he and Greg Allen are trust fund crybabies.

Good to see Bob Ornelas keep up on his Green-bashing, I was starting to think he forgot about us after he turned traitor to the Democrats.

Just one question though: If Greg Allen had a trust fund, why did he only spend 1k on his city council bid? Michael Winkler spent 15k.

At 9:32 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Because he is a selfish and stupid trust fund baby!

Sure, that makes a whole lot of sense. Run for office and withold money from your own campaign, just for kicks. These trolls really think everyone else is as ignorant as they are.

defend civility with name-calling childness. how uplifting. thanks to measure t the demos can add overconfidence to there egomania.

Geist is the only one with a mind of her own. Not beholden to anyone.

No big money. Just the people. And the people spoke.

None of the Geist opponents ran much of a race, none of them collected any endorsements from 5th Dist residents. We can thank them for another four years of an Arcata bureaucrat ignoring nohum needs. I just hope we can dig up Elsebusch, Senger, Mayo, somebody, anybody who will actually campaign.

Maybe Bravo will be able to comeback in time to run in '08. He got 1000 votes the first time and spent no money on his campaign. In '08 he'll need to spend a thousand or so so he can help keep Amerman the idiot out of office.

As far as Allen and Douglas go, they could've been Arcata's savior but there's too many idiots here distracted by shiny objects that thugs like Ornelas, Cobb, and Smith flash in front of them.

Everyday I pray for a tsunami.

The only reason some libs (a small number) dislike Geist is because she didn't stand by Gallegos.

At 12:00 PM, Blogger Fred Mangels said...

Why would libs want Geist to stand by Gallegos?

At 1:04 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Charles Douglas actually believe that "Allen and Douglas could've been Arcata's saviors."

They really are mentally ill.

The activists love Gallegos and have a "you're either with us or against us" attitude.

Charles is a lizard man! I seen it and David Cobb says he seen it too! we're rescuing the Greens from lizardmen like Charles!

At 6:05 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Damn that was close! I spilled my beer because I heard a loud noise outside. It's the lizardmen! They're out there heeding Charles's demands! Where is Charles? He and Harmony Groves are sunning themselves on a rock awaiting the right moment to spawn all manner of lizard people! It's an invasion! They're not even earth lizards! They're LIZARDMEN FROM SPACE! Somebody please believe me! Please for the love of god believe me!

If memory serves correctly
The 5th District has a reputation for being fickle. Historically, I don't think any candidate has taken it in the primary, for maybe 30 years.

Contentious races from the past:
Landis v ________
Hedlund v Sparks
Sparks v Krebs
Kirk v Senger

I wouldn't have voted for her, but I have to say that I was impressed with her when the gay marriage statement issue came up. It's not a position she had to take. And Rodoni, who prides himself on his quasi-libertarianism, refused to support it.

meaningless symbology. where was geist on the medical marijuana vote? oh yeah, she came back in the room as soon at it was done. what a coincidence. she also was the reason the vote was delayed for almost a year in the first place. how many people were needlessly arrested because of her complacency?

At 11:57 PM, Blogger Eric V. Kirk said...

Well, it wasn't meaningless to the wingnuts who turned out that morning to scream about it. She sure lost their votes.

Did ANY County officials support Gallegos?

At 12:28 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Not the ones with inside knowledge.

At 7:45 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

my point exactly

At 6:06 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Except for Jeffrey "yougofree.com" Schwartz, who contributed to both of Gallegos' campaigns, did anyone in the courthouse support Gallegos?
