215 Coming To Eureka?

Uh oh. I guess it was bound to happen. Someone would eventually want to open a medical marijuana clinic in Eureka. I guess it's not that big a deal since Eureka already has enough druggies to go around. I don't know that this will make things any worse, or will it?

Seems to me something like that would fit in better in Arcata, but doesn't Arcata already have some 215 type clinic?

Whatever. If it does end up in Eureka, lets hope it ends up somewhere in the west side of town, since that's where most of the low lifes already hang out.

It may surprise some that Mr. Libertarian here would be concerned about 215 clinics. Hey, I'm easy going and don't care if people smoke pot whether or not they're 215 "patients". It just seems that just about every town I've heard of that's allowed 215 clinics to operate, including San Francisco, ends up having problems with them.

And I can't help but wonder if such a clinic would attract even more riff- raff to Eureka than we already have?

I read the article, and it sounds like the guy would be pretty strict in how he runs things. If he did it the way he describes in the article, it wouldn't be very accommodating to the "riff-raff."

Let's hope so.

I understand the guy that ran the one in Willow Creek was pretty strict too. How long did he last?

How strict can one run a 215 reefermaddness joint when the doctors who hand out the prop215 cards aren't? I think the only think the guy is going to be "strict" about is if you can pay the fee or not.

I imagine he'll just ask for a 215 card and leave it at that. If he just takes the money from anyone (as apparently some do) without asking for a card, he could put himself in the position for a set up by the powers that be.

They ought to just take the criminals out of pot and decriminalize the weed!

Agreed.

Ask Frito-Lay to sponsor legislation.

I don't think that 215 clinics means more "druggies." I think your concerns would be better directed at the alcohol-slingin' bar scene if you are truly concerned with substance abuse and access to "hard" drugs.

In fact, if you take the time to do some research, you will find that cannabis has actually been used to help people with harmful chemical dependencies break their addictions.

If, on the other hand, you are just trying to be a meanie and jump on the backlash bandwagon, then, well, have a nice ride.

ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ (Leonidas for those of you unable to access the polytonic greek font) would like to see all substances both hard and "soft" legalized for adults. The down side of that of course is the government would tax them.

Hey Plazoid puke, enlighten us with your "research" ! Or did you just pull this out of your backside ? As Eric would say, give me facts, but you can't can you !

Wellbutrin is a, oh, BILLION times more effective in that department.

I work for our local newspaper and we got a fax from Mayoral candidate , Jerry Droz , yesterday . In it he says that he would direct Law Enforcement not to go after people for possession of simple marijuana and said they need to go after the "white powder drug " users and sellers . All i gotta say is........RIGHT ON , MR. DROZ!

Yeah , I'll agree with that and go after the alcohol companies for all the murders they contribute to drunks on our highways . They are the same ones that are telling us how bad marijuana is so , we drink v/s smoke weed .
