Better Blogging

Our very own Chris Crawford, over at the Times- Standard Blogs, gives us a heads up on an article appearing on the Tech Republic web site with tips for better blogging. He gives a summary of the tips in his latest post.

Looking through the tips, I'll have to say I think I've been doing a fair job along the lines of what they recommend, with the exception of not always dealing with politics here. Then again, this isn't Fred's Political Blog, it's Fred's Humboldt Blog, so I can deal with whatever suits my fancy.

Then again, I don't always deal with Humboldt issues either, do I?

Fred, I am enjoying the new larger fonts. Much better on my eyeballs.

Thanks

Fortunately, I advertise a broad subject range although my non-local topic posts tend to get less attention.

Not sure what you mean about larger fonts, 8:36. I'm using the same size as always. Maybe you set your browser to show larger fonts? Or maybe it's something blogspot did?

I know when I was editing the post on Jake Pickering's letter the compose window showed his letter in huge fonts. It wasn't that way when I first posted it and it doesn't show up on the page like that. Don't know what that's about.

Eric writes, "I advertise a broad subject range...".

I would think it's more a matter of the personality behind the blog, and what people expect of him or her.

Some blogs are single issue and people visit, assuming they visit regularly, to deal with that single issue. Other blogs are more personality oriented and people will visit to see what's on that person's mind. Some subjects may pique a lot of interest. Some don't.

Obviously, local elections and the Balloon Tract are what generate the most interest here.

You have a way of presenting your no bones opinions and allowing others to do the same even if not by their own name.

One thing is sure-the longer you read the posts the more you pick up nuances from writers and have an easier time discerning who they are even though "anon".

Hope you keep a good supply of the political topics up as we are enjoying the 'education'! Thanks!

Hey, I like the Buhne Tribune.

Sure, since he stopped allowing comments it's only half a blog, but he had a reason for doing so and I'm sure many people don't blame him.

wikipedia is a farce.
it exists to ALTER historical facts and bend them to a "pro jewish" agenda.

Larry Sanger, and Jim Wales, founded Wikipedia in Jan.
Moderators openly admit to a pro-Jewish bias.

Wales got his start in PORNO - Bomis, an 'Adult Content' website.

Wikipedians (Jewish volunteers) will concentrate on a certain subject, and actively moderate any new replies. Once an individual edits an article, his ISP number is recorded, and he is assigned a sayanim that will monitor all his future writings.

Individual contributors are assigned a tracking page, and an open record of all writings. Through out the cycle the contributor this will be monitored by Hillel, ADL, SPLC, type control agents.

------

Hey: if YOU feel comfortable having 2% of the population controlling and editing 100% of news stories, you are already defeated.

2% of the population controls 96% of the news media in our country?????

Think about THAT.

This may seem like a silly question, but is the correct pronounciation of Buhne Tribune Buhne Tribuner?

I don't know. Different people say it different ways. Cap'n Buhne says Buhne is pronounced as in Boone. I've always been under the impression it's pronounced Booner. Each to their own.
