Gazebo Rally

Anyone attend that rally for the Local Solutions candidates at the Gazebo yesterday? I just watched the coverage on the Channel 3 "The Spirit of The Northcoast" News.

I see our very own Mresquan was there. He actually got a sound bite on the TV clip. Goes to show that if you chase the cameras around long enough, you'll get on T.V., eventually.

Shameless though it may be, I was surprised to see Esquan once again using an alias. The news clip identified him as one Mark Konkler.

Yeah, right. We all know who he really is. Esquan; When those T.V. folks finally figure out you're using a pseudonym you'll likely end up in the same boat as Richard Salzman and it'll be a long time before you're allowed on camera again.

As an aside, I don't believe I've ever seen Esquan before. Not what I would have expected. I figured he'd be younger, with hair down to his shoulders, or longer.
***********
Was it just me? That one shot on the news of all the candidates; Glass, Abrams and the rest. The camera panned out and showed them standing side by side. Somehow it gave me the impression they were lined up in front of a firing squad.

Reminded me of that scene in the beginning of the movie Escape From Sobibor, where a bunch of the concentration camp prisoners line up side by side before getting machine gunned. Not sure why it reminded me of that. Maybe their facial expressions?

I heard from one person who passed by, some 30 people showed up. The paper says 50. Whatever the number, it's says to me that their popularity with the community is no where near what their spinners are trying to portray.

Very Astute Observation Fred!
I agree with 8:34 as well.

I was on a break so I ran down there to check out the rally and hopefully get a few folks to register,at about 5 after noon or so.So I'm standing talking to a friend across the street from the gazebo when the genlemen photo'd in the times-standard runs over and gives me a clipboard with voter reg cards. As soon as I walk to the gazebo, Kris Keller(Nans campaign manager) and the newslady tell me they want to do a take, whatever hope it turned out okay,I didn't see it.I guess I should have told her to use mresquan.I was caught off guard a bit since I'd just gotten there. But hey I went at it shoot from the hip and was totally unprepared so what can I say. I stayed for a half hour or so after before I had to get back to my chores.Strange,I guess great minds think alike,I thought of that flick when I saw the photo in the standard this morning.BTW mresquan is my alter ego.

Hard to say about that. A lot of people don't go to all these rallys and such. Myself included. That said, I would think lefties would be more inclined to attend such functions. No way I can prove that, though.

Esquan wrote, "I thought of that flick when I saw the photo in the standard this morning.".

You mean Escape From Sobibor?

BTW; That's a great flick, folks. About a revolt at a ww2 concentration camp where they have a mass break out.

True story with names of real participants listed at the end with what their fate was. I remember one survivor was living in Santa Barbara, at least at the time the movie was made. Would have loved to meet him.

Hi Fred, I also posted this on Softball's blog, regarding local polling -

I have a question that I have been meaning to ask for a while, and thought you would probably know...a week or so ago, Buhne did a satire on LaVallee with him grumbling about being seven points down in the polls.
This got me to thinking, how much polling around the city, if any, is actually being done, aside from the CREG poll that Larry Glass initiated?
And if so, how do the numbers look for the various races

Polling in such a small community isn't generally accurate, the margin of error being in the double digits.

But is it being done? Genuinely curious, thats all...

Haven't heard that about Wikipedia. Any specific entries to point to?

Everything I've heard about Wikipedia has been positive. The only downside to it is that anyone can edit an entry so it's open to mischief.

Yeah, and there's even a mechanism to call the objectivity of a posting into question, and they make a public tado out of it if their own people can confirm one way or another. It seems like a pretty good system.

For the same old 20+ lefties in attendence it was more like, "Escape From Reality".

That's for sure. They actually list David Cobb as a lawyer, when we all know he was disbarred years ago in Texas and never passed the bar in any other state.

What the hell are you talking about? There is nothing like that on that Website.

He was not disbarred in Texas by the way. Somebody misread the record and posted it on my blog, and somebody else pointed out that the poster was reading-challenged and how. David Cobb has no children.

Eric: Polls done in Humboldt County are very accurate. Within a few percentage points from my experience. Where did you come up with double digit thought?

From Wikipedia:
In 2000, Green Presidential candidate Ralph Nader asked Cobb to organize his campaign in Texas, and Cobb closed his law practice to do so. He coordinated a successful ballot access drive in the state. Concurrently, Cobb became the GPUS's General Counsel

From Humboldtpedia:
In 2004, Green Presidential candidate David Cobb found his way to Eureka, California where like minded followers of his radical left politics bathed in the light of his presence and pronounced him King. This charismatic leader can be found leading workshops out of his home on organic bread baking, wheat grass pressing, bicycle repair, social activism and college lecturing. His best selling book, "I Know It All, Just Ask Me" can be found at all finer liberal bookstores and Green Party picnics.

DAVID KEITH COBB
Bar Card Number*: 00787257

Current Member Status
Not Eligible To Practice In Texas

Administrative Suspension
This attorney has been suspended by the State Bar of Texas for an Administrative reason. The suspension may be the result of one or more of the following:

* Failure to pay Inactive or Active Membership Dues
* Failure to pay Attorney Occupational Tax
* MCLE requirements non-compliance
* Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Default
* Failure to pay Child Support

For more information, please contact the State Bar of Texas Membership department at (800)204-2222 ext. 1383

And the Wiki does list Cobb as a lawyer in the first paragraph. It's true he helped Nader and was Counsel, or the lawyer, for the national Green Party, which make his betrayal of both all the more sickening. Cobb resigned as the party's Counsel because he was no longer eligible to be Counsel for anybody after losing his bar status, i.e. he was no longer a laywer!

Look at the other state bar sites, he's not listed. If you are not a bar certified attorney in any U.S. state (or by the military), then you are not a lawyer in this country. Consult ABA and they will tell you the same, in fact false representation of oneself as a certified lawyer is a crime if you dispense legal advice under the guise of attorney services.

This does matter when the County is bound to face a Measure T challenge in the near future, based on Cobb's faulty propaganda. Cobb also provided the legal "advice" on Measure M and we all know the story of how the anti-GMO prop would have won except for a key error in the language.

Maybe you need to stick to politics in your own state Michael Smith. Your employer David Cobb is exposed for the fraud he is.
