Where's Collins Street?

One thing I learned from the first in the Times- Standard's five part series on the Balloon Tract, was the first person to purchase the property that now holds the Balloon Tract was Charles Collins. He paid something like a dollar an acre way back in 1861.

So how come he doesn't have a street named after him? Sounds like he must have been a player of some note in the development of Eureka. I see some of the other players listed and they have streets named after them, among them Soule and Vance.

I'm sure somebody out there will get right on this.

If they don't, maybe they can name one of the streets in Marina Center Collins Avenue?

Yeah maybe SN/Marina Center can sell shares for $1 and we can vote on street names like we did for Ballon Track vs Balloon Tract.

I'm in-here's my Buck *$1*

How much would it cost private citizens to clean up the marina to a certain degree? How many acres and how much trash?

What certain degree are we talking about-check the water quality guidelines for public use vs. industrial or retail use. Water quality says one thing when there is contact with people sitting on the ground-another when there is a building with a parking lot people drive up to and leave...

It's in the millions either way Nick. 3M vs 11M? And all the numbers in between.

How about Chery street and Rob avenue?

rename Waterfront Drive to Arkley Way with a statue of Rob at the head of the Marina Center entrance.

I think statues of live people are not done for a reason.

Tell that to Sylvester Stallone.
