Find A Candidate

Just got the heads up on this candidate search website. You can find out what state and federal candidates ran in your district all the way back to the 1800s. Might be useful for some of you media types, assuming you don't have something like this to refer to already.

One eye opener for me was I vaguely remembered Democrat, Doug Bosco, but I'd always thought of him as being a State Assembly dude. I guess he was in congress, not the State Assembly.

Whoa! Very useful, Fred! Thanks!

Bosco's back, actually. As an attorney, he represents the railroad operators trying to get at the gravel in the Eel River Canyon. Paradoxically, he also is the chairman of the California Coastal Conservancy board of directors.

Steve -- you should give him a call!

Doug Bosco lost the Democratic primary election to Virginia Strom-Martin for the assembly 1st District seat in 1995. Bonnie Neely lost to Margie Handley for the Republican try. Other Democrats that ran were Karen Scott, John Cumming and Samoasoftball. I may have cost Doug his chance at overcoming Virginia. I went on to join Virginia's steering committee and she beat Handley in the general election and served for 6 years as assemblywomen and was very successful as a legislator.
