No One Cares In Mckinleyville

Wow. Only 4% of Mckinleyville residents responded to this poll. If someone sent me a poll asking some of the things that poll asked, I'd be sure and fill it out and return it if only to counter someone else who sent one in who might have felt the opposite way I did.

I wonder what the mailer looked like? Could be a lot of people thought it was just junk mail?

I live in McKinleyville and didn't ever see a poll come in the mail. The article in the paper is the first I ever heard of it.

It was sent with the McKinleyville Community Service District Newletter.

I guess most people in McKinleyville do not look at this as is it a Newsletter that informs the people here of various things that go on here. Such as: water quality that has been tested and the results of the test. What the Rec Dept is offering along with other things that people that live here should be aware of.

TO 6:35 p.m. do you pay for your water and sewer service to MCSD?? If you don't you did not receive the poll. If you do pay - then you may have thrown away their "blue" MCSD newsletter and therefore did not know there was a poll. If you pay services here you should at least open their "Newletter" and read it. If you don't you get just what you deserve!

FROM: A McKinleyville resident that opens the mail and reads the "Newsletter".

There were some residents asking MCSD to put the poll in the McKinleyville Press. And make a little noise to let people know it was being mailed and was important.

Isn't 4% pretty good for a mail piece? Or maybe the issues aren't as important as some would have us believe. Maybe they should do the surveys like the county and just hand out a bunch at meetings for people to photocopy and give to their family and friends so they can sway the results?

Statistically 4 % is pretty great for a mailed survey. If you are not a water customer and wanted to respond all you would have to do is walk into the MCSD office and get one.

Two points. #1 The poll was not very good ,rate from 1 to 3 the importance of an issues. That's so subjective and dosen't ever give an accurate view. #2 Low responce is directly related to no intrest in incorporation. If we wanted to live in a shit hole city we'd move to Sacramento or (God forbid) Arcata. Higher taxes and parking tickets at every corner, we can hardly wait.

the first thing that would happen is all the people who like to tell other people what to do get themselves appointed to the new offices, and they pass ordinances. yeah we can hardly wait.

Yes I do pay for water. I have not seen one of the newsletters in months. The ones that I have got in the mail I have read. It probably got lost in the mail. The mail service isn't the best in the Dows Prairie are at times but that a different subject.

What they didn't point out is the the return rate is 30% of the literate population in McKinleyville.
