Another Higher Education Moment

Since I don't have much to write today, I thought I'd post a link to this little gem by columnist, Dennis Prager. He explains that, not only is higher education not the answer to every problem, but it has helped give rise to some of history's bloodiest movements like fascism and communism.

Gooo, Prager!

Ok Fred, come clean. Did you post that link as a flame, or do you actually believe that article?

Let's see, Nazi's were educated, therefore education is bad. That's the gist of his argument.

Who can name that fallacy?

What a pile of garbage that was.

Ad hominem?

Hasty generalization?

I would like to offer up an opinion about how this article, but this one solidifies one thing for me. Fred, I am sorry education is a sore subject for you. I am only left with one question, and it is one that I have asked before when reading your posts...

WTF?

I thought money and power was to blame. Who knew?

lodgepole, I'd say either hasty generalization or undistributed middle

Jesus, Fred, is it surprising that a website which features the writings of William "video poker" Bennett would feature such backward, reactionary drivel?

The anti-Roe-vs-wade t-shirt on the large-breasted young woman in the ad is a real touch of class.

Fred,
I assume you linked to Townhall.Com to stir up the progressives who comment here (flaming?). It worked. These folks are unable to distinguish between opinion and their leftist "news" sources. (which are mostly OPINION).

"Let's see, Nazi's were educated, therefore education is bad. That's the gist of his argument.

Sorry Jeff, your straw man ploy ain't working. Nice try.

Message to Jeff, CPR and other progressives: It's OPINION!! Go back to DU, Daily Kos and Kucinich's website for your talking points (and UFO sightings).

"Most Leftist arguments can be summarized in one sentence: 'How DARE anybody question what I believe!'. Rage and abuse substitute for an appeal to facts and reason."

Advice to progressives who have now been exposed to Townhall.com: Make sure you avoid the following: Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams and Mike Adams. Those guys are definitely heretics.

Let the "flaming" begin!!

Let's see, 6:33 PM and 6:34 PM were pretty fast (for leftists) but 6:37 PM took a bit longer due to a dozen or so more words. 6:43 PM was a little slow due to figuring out how to find the caps lock key:o)

Yeah 8:30 AM, Soon it will be no fun to come here for the leftist comedy relief. But at least the greek recorded how fast the moonbats flamed out with their mindless one liners.

Sheesh Leonidas, feeling particularly grumpy or something? And what the heck is the point of saying "It's OPINION"? While you are one to name call, I thought you usually included some substance to your posts.

I'm unfamiliar with DU and Daily KOS. But I have been trying to recruit Dennis Kuncinich campaign workers as roadies, because they'll work tirelessly for nothing.

I challenge you to explain how I was using a straw man fallacy.

And Fred, you didn't come clean, but Leonidas confirmed that indeed your goal was to bait flamers. I suppose that means I took the bait.

Greek boy's post proved he doesn't know the meaning of strawman fallacy. But he has probably been accused of using the strawman fallacy many times himself.
