Conneticut Rules For Same- Sex Marriage

The third state court to rule in favor of same- sex marriage. Another split vote that could have just as easily gone the other way, though. I wonder if this will have any effect on how some California voters view Prop 8?

Driving around Eureka and seeing those yellow Yes on 8 signs sort of make me sick to my stomach.

So Fred, are you saying that Connecticut "rules" because it approved the marriages, or did you mean just that the court ruled in favor of the marriages.

It's a subtle, but significant difference and I was hoping to gauge your support.

Just that the court ruled in favor of same sex marriage. I assume you're new here. My opposition to Prop 2 is no secret.

"Driving around Eureka and seeing those yellow Yes on 8 signs...".

I mentioned over at Carson Park Ranger I'd finally started seeing some of those signs. Most notably, the wife's parents' house and the Matteoli's, right across the street from mine.

Disappointed, although not surprised, by the wife's parents. They've long been members of the Religious Left. Not sure that's the right description but they've long been both Democrats and staunch Catholics.

The Matteolis have long been card carrying members of the Religious Right- Republicans and staunch Catholics- so no surprise there.

I suspect there's Yes on 8 signs on most of the Cruz- Matteoli family homes around town. Pretty sad.

I'm curious how the Matteoli's daughters Janna and Maria stand on the issue. They were registered Green last I knew. I wonder if their Catholicism trumped Green, or vice- versa? They live far away so no way of knowing.

Q: Why has it evolved that it is the business of the state to involve itself in the contractual arrangements of individuals who cause no harm to third parties?

A: It is due to the imposition of religious beliefs on society by a democratic majority.

Q: Why is government issued identification demanded of a wizened senior citizen in order for him/her to purchase alcoholic beverages?

A: See above

Interesting development over at the Matteoli's: Somebody appears to have stolen their Yes On 8 sign. No it wasn't me. I just noticed it gone this morning when I looked out my front window.

This is the second time in a week their signs have been stolen. Last Saturday somebody stole their Jager and Home Tour signs from their front yard. Who is doing this? I have no idea.

Why haven't they stolen my Jager sign?

You never know.

It could be the opposition stealing signs.

Or it could be people who want the opposition to look bad.

It's all so, what can I say to describe it?

It's all so anonymous.

(Ironic, eh?)

As an aside, this blog has had about twenty to thirty more hits a day recently. Many of them seem to be from people doing searches on where to find No on Prop 8 signs.
