Tracking Shipments Is Fun

I think it's pretty neat how you can track your shipments through FedEx and UPS online now. We shipped a computer and some clothes to Connie's sister in Colorado and I've been having fun watching the package's progress. You can follow it here. It's in Colorado Springs now, so she should get it sometime today.

Oh, you don't think that's neat? Ok, you're right. I guess I have NO life.

I think it is neat, Fred, and I have a life. I use the FedEx tracking shipments whenever I have something being shipped to me via FedEx. It is handy!

One time, though, I wrote the wrong zip code for something for my daughter in Santa Cruz. I used our zip code in Loleta. I watched that package arrive in Arcata then be shipped to Sacramento, back to Arcata, so I called and the person on the phone and I figured out that I had used the wrong zip code. After that was fixed, she got her package just fine. Just remember to double check your address and zip code.

I see they delivered Vera's package at just after 8am PST this morning.

The next step in tracking progress, for entertainment purposes only, would be to have little mini web cams on the package so you could actually see what it looks like outside the package.

Might not be much fun while it's piled in with other packages but when it's being transferred between trucks and actually delivered to its destination would be a gas.

Imagine if we had that now we could have seen what the snow looks like on Vera's front porch this morning.
