Our Kitchen

Right after the January earthquake. Forgot I had this picture on my camera.

Friends in Eureka reported that pretty much every dish and glass were broken, that things came flying out of the cupboards during that quake.

It was strong here, felt like the house was coming apart but not one thing fell or broke.

This latest one was interesting, and again, nothing fell.

Yep. Some of that stuff fell out of our cupboards. We actually had those hook and eye latches on the doors of the cupboards to keep them from flying open but we stopped using them.

We try to keep them latched now.

Even if no damage appears to have been done, Rose, each quake loosens the nails that hold your house together. One day, they may let go all at once and then where will you be? Sitting on the ground!
