The Monkeemobile

Anybody remember the Monkeemobile?

The Times- Standard ran this Associated Press story on The Monkees in their entertainment section today- the Monkees' lead singer, Davy Jones, having died just the other day. I've been a life- long Monkees fan but had all but forgotten about the old Monkeemobile. I remembered it as being white, not red. So much for the accuracy of my memory.

More on the Monkeemobile here.

Oh yeah, I remember it, though I saw it originally in black and white, due lack of a color tv at the time. I wasn't much of a Monkees fan, that was my sis's department, I was more a fan of Shatner, Nimoy, Kelly, and Doohan at the time.

That's right! Hadn't thought of that. That might explain my faulty memory. Funny how I remember those shows today as being in color.

A fan of both, myself.

Love the Monkees. Not bad music for the times.
