Anti- NDAA Bill Passes First Hurdle

A bill in the California legislature that would require state agencies to refuse to implement or assist in the indefinite detention of Americans suspected of ties to terrorism has cleared its first hurdle according to the Independent Political Report. AB351, sponsored by Republican Tim Donnelly, passed the Public Safety Committee with unanimous support.

The tripartisan support- as one writer deemed it- for the bill included the  ACLU, Tenth Amendment Center, San Francisco 99% coalition, San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the Libertarian Party of California, among others.

I was not surprised to see some lefties making derisive comments regarding the bill and its sponsor, a Republican, when I first read about it. I guess cooler heads prevailed in the end. It's a pleasure to see everyone united behind liberty for a change.

Should this bill make it to the floors of the assembly and senate for final passage, it will be interesting to see how the votes line up.

Funny how two party system bureaucrast talk "up and down" about letting this issue or that issue be a "state issue", but that the feds flip-flop when it comes to domestic terrorism. The feds invented "domestic terrorism", so let the feds be the ones to "detain", not California! - HOJ

Just the fact that this is being fought over in court in stead of leading to Obama's impeachment should tell us all something

Funny how Bush got heckled for doing less than half as much as Obama has done regarding terrorism and the loss of freedoms and liberty.

Obama is successful because he is an excellent shmoozer in a country with too many gullible voters.

Yet, ya see the scam is this - The Two Party System attempts to make voters think there exists differences between liberals and conservatives, but the differences are only "SMOKESCREENS" because in reality, both parties work together to "set-up" their power and control over issues that divide to conquer! - HOJ

I'm wondering what attacks on our freedoms will be proposed in the hysteria following the Boston bombing? 9/11 gave us PATRIOT, DHS, NDAA and umpteen other things. What will this one bring?

I would bet they either blame it on Iran North Korea or domestic right wing extremist The weird thing is they were having bomb disposal training the day of the Boston bombing in Boston with bomb sniffing dogs and roof top surveillance what a coincidence yet the mayor said they had no credible threats to believe that there would be any incidents at the Boston Marathon I believe if it was truly a terrorist attack there would have been a lot more casualties and damage inflicted does operation Gladio ring a bell with anybody
