Humboldt Herald: R.I.P.

It's been over a month since any new posts at the Humboldt Herald so I guess he's dead and gone. I'll remove its link from this blog's list. Shame, as he had a good run for some years. We don't want to clutter up our blog list with dead blogs so off he or she goes. Rest in peace, Heraldo.

Hank Sims, over at Lost Coast Outpost, will replace Heraldo's spot on the blog list. LCO may not be what I'd consider a normal blog, but it does cover Humboldt County, has discussion of local issues and, most important, is updated regularly.

Ooops! I forgot the Humboldt Mirror has been dead quite a bit longer than the Herald. I'll need to remove that too. Any suggestions as to who gets the honor of taking its place on the list?

Northcoast Journal. It's become Northcoast Heraldo and if the political bias and censorship of opposing community voices keeps up, Northcoast Heraldo will go the same way as little Heraldo.

Josh Drayton and Conrad had a good run as the underground or behind the curtain "progressive/regressive" hate blog. They moved to Los Angeles and Mitch and Eric took over to help cover what was already known by political insiders. Surprised Arkley didn't sue them!

Fred: While you are updating your blog list, why not use the real name of "Kim's Pot Blog" which is Redheaded Blackbelt. You might also add Klamblog which has good information on the Klamath and associated rivers.

"Henchman Of Justice" says,

Anyone wonder who may have been playing both sides as the moderator or controlling interest of both the Humboldt herald and the Humboldt Mirror? As people have said about anonymous comments being the fabrication of sneakish person who creates conversations between fictional characters to make real people think there exists more people, when in reality, it is one person playing the part of several different anonymous aliases. When the Herald went quiet, simultaneously too so did the Mirror; and, as the Mirror went quiet, simultaneously too so did the Herald (prior to Mitch apparantly taking over).

If a person is being sneaky, playing the part of several blog commenters, then what happens when that sneakish person has health problems or passes away? Same thing happens to a blog moderator/administrator running multiple blogs, raising mischief by fueling both sides of the war, err issue.

Of course, there is always last local election cycle, who knows about the well connected...........

Actually, I should probably remove her blog from the list since she's part of the Lost Coast Outpost team now and her blog posts automatically show up on the LCO. Kind of redundant having them both listed.

Eric list every blog, even the dead ones. We love ya Steve, but we can't list just any blog here.

Fred, thanks for the heads up. They both seemed to be dying lately. Funny that we outlasted them though. Just wanted to let you know that I added you to my blog and removed Heraldo and the Mirror.

Gee, thanx, except I know you're just trying to manipulate me into letting your blog have the coveted spot on my list! lol

The Humboldt Sentinel is replacing the Northcoast Jeraldo which looks like a bloated blog in comparison. More news, more interesting news and views at the Sentinel than the Prog rag.

The Northcoast Jeraldo does hit pieces against local developers and wins prizes because the judges of these hit pieces like hard hitting journalism. What they don't know is that the NCJ only writes these hit pieces aimed almost exclusively at the local Republican or conservative political enemies of Progressives and eviros. They never do investigative journalism of undue Prog political except one time--to nail Richard Salzman, who's identity fraud acts were too outrageous to ignore. Richard was sacrificed but is back in political manipulation business so he didn't fare too bad. I am bothered though about the fact that Marti Burstiner writes big fat editorials for the NC Jeraldo and then teaches journalism classes at HSU. She's being paid to add to the Northcoast Jeraldo's political attack team that singles out Humboldt County Republican businessmen especially to "investigate", i.e, write incredibly slanted hit pieces like Ryan's on Ulaney that is so biased as to break most every objective journalism standard of equal side reporting. It stands as a sick joke when it comes after NCJ bragging about winning more investigative journalism awards.

Slanted newspaper writing only serves the organized Prog politicos who are using and to me abusing public interest in community events to peddle political agendas, in the NCJ's case, political agendas aimed at crippling employment opportunities for Humboldt County working class people by consistently attacking any development prospects that would offer jobs as well as backing up enviro lawsuits aimed at virtual total destruction of Humboldt County anchor businesses. What is is most unfair too is the fact that NCJ situates itself in the heart of HSU student land which guarantees an endless supply of student activists and wandering youth who then man the trees and demonstrations attacking local people's employment or living necessities suppliers, get their fame junkie pictures in the paper, (I mean talk about desperation to get attention, did we all see the naked Willits by-pass protesters?) , and then they go home to their own communities, to grow up and get jobs and raise families themselves. Meanwhile they've left Humboldt County families bereft of jobs. Nice going NCJ, exploiting the logistics of Humboldt politics down to the campus levels, thus serving Progs and enviros while sticking the knife into local workers.

"Henchman Of Justice" says,

Stephen, in paragraph #2 @ 8:28 PM, hopefully you do realise that in Humboldt County, like all other jurisdictions, public employees are not 100% this or 100% that.

In fact, there are enough "public employees" who ARE NOT PROGS or DEMS or INDEPS or 3rd partiers, etc... Enough vote republican/conservative too, which suggests that the local sabotages by public employees that detract away from "opportunities" is partially exhibited through the practice of canabalism.

Enough local conservative tards screw over moderates and repubs too, if not through political processses, then through gossip and backstabbing pesonal agendas!!!! Lies, lies and more fricken lies. - HOJ

Those people are not actively trying to peddle their anti-working class ideas to Humboldt County citizens via every media outlet they can influence or public office they can insert a Prog shill into. I don't know what you're addressing but it isn't my issues with Prog manipulation of local community information.

Here's today's example of how Eric Kirk and the Northcoast Jeraldo are censoring my input to the Willits discussions on their blogs: This is my post they've both censored. I can't get around there blocks without going to another computer which I've done in the past but it's a huge hassle: I have experience relevant to the Willits by-pass and enviro protest but our Progites censor Steve Lewis because they are afraid of me. Intellectual cowards at the helm of these Prog propaganda mouthpiecces.

Below is the post of what first Eric Kirk has just censored on his blog, Eric, Mark Lovelaced wannabe and upstanding member in the elite circle of Heraldo-ites at the helms of defunct Heraldo, and Big Heraldo here, the Northcoast Jeraldo, these fine Prog masters doing this censoring of opposing political opponents for the good of the community. Now, The Jeraldo has followed suit, censoring my post. Hope this one posts.

The post or as close to it in essence as I can remember because, fool I, I didn't copy it, forgetting the kind of people I'm dealing with.

I get frustrated the enviro protesters and the enviro orgs that use the protesters as grunts on the line for free while the orgs make the dough in lawsuits, both screaming to the media that they are protecting the environment, neither one actually cares a fig about putting any time or energy where their mouths are when it comes to working on developing alternative systems to their protested causes.

I invented the following solar powered rail system I invented in 1976, periodically checked through the intervening years in mags like Popular Science to see if anyone else had gotten the idea finding none until I saw a flyer for the Willits Solar Faire in 1980 or there abouts and I went there to pitch my Solar Rail System.

"The Solar Rail System

(1976)

Imagine the highways and freeways gone. No cars, no trucks, no exhaust pollution, no noise pollution, no dead animals lying on the sides of the road. Imagine no huge Cal-Trans budget and tax burden because the roads are gone. Imagine no more CHP tickets and no more fossil fuel cars. Imagine all the money saved if California had a state-wide mass transit system that fueled itself with electricity generated by the Sun.

Imagine the thousands of acres of highway road beds turned into forests and organic farms and quiet villages where people and animals can safely cross underneath a quiet electro-magnetic monorail system where the monorail itself contains a thousands of miles long solar collecting system that catches, stores, and releases electricity from the sun supplying all the power needed to run both passenger and freight monorail trains throughout California.

This is the future. This is the promise of the Solar Rail System for the 21st Century."

Second part of censored post:

Well, it turned out they did have a solar powered railrway flatcar rigged out with solar panels and electric motor to run and I talked with the guys there, got a phone number for their org, called it later, yeah, good idea, le't keep in touch, never to hear from them again. And still, you ever hear enviros demanding Solar powered railways to be built? Or is it the protest itself that is the real Cause. Protest of anything that can get your name or picture in the paper for that 15 minutes of fame or career for fame junkies who become media stars.

Anyway, for an alternative energy system creator it's most frustrating to see the same old animal territorial battling behavior going on at all levels as usual. I'm in the midst of it myself because if you wimp out, no one pays attention to Your Cause. and Heaven knows My Cause is the best one around by far. Just let me tell you..over and over again..

Well, it works for preachers and Madison Ave, doesn't it? Doesn't work for me.

Let's see it this post disappears here and we get more barbourqued in ads..
