I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. I consider myself fairly level headed and not one to panic or jump to conclusions, but bringing two Americans infected with ebola virus back into the country seems a really bad idea. Not that the disease might not make it here on its own, anyway, but why help it along?

Yeah, bring them to Gitmo instead. I've heard, from reliable political sources, that they have the best medical system in the world there. Ours suck.
...because bringing two patients in quarantine isn't "helping it along" in any sense of the phrase. Nobody else will get infected.
The reason to treat them here is answered with another phrase: "basic human decency."
