When Robots Attack

I've written here before of my concerns about automation and artificial intelligence eventually taking over most jobs done by people. The Huffington Post has an article showing I'm not alone in my concerns.

"Soon, all that will be left for human beings will be the non-routine, creative work."

There have been plenty of scifi stories written about societies where automation leaves humanity to enjoy other pursuits... from HG Wells' Eloi who forgot knowledge and became sheep to Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek where exploration of space and a desire to better one's mind replaces the fight to survive.

I agree, automation is a threat to a society that is based on capitalism.

People turning into robots through calculated effort is the bigger threat. Yes, of course, I must be referring to MSNBC. Whom else could it be?
