Letter: More Old Town Parking Needed
I guess our very own Julie Timmons isn't alone in wanting more parking in Eureka's Old Town. A letter in the Times- Standard suggests turning the area on First Street, between C & F into a parking lot. It makes no difference to me. I've never had a problem parking in Old Town. Then again, I rarely go down there.

The lack of thought behind this letter is what keeps Eureka behind the 8 ball. It makes no sense to take a parcel of land with a beautiful bay view and turn it into a parking lot.
You'll be hearing more from me on the subject.
Increased parking can be accomplished by creating diagonal parking stalls on streets turned into one-way with one traffic lane. This would nearly double the existing street parking for just the cost of paint and signage.
