Eureka Council: No More Invocations

I agree with the writer of this letter. I'm pleased to read the Eureka City Council decided to do away with invocations prior to the business portion of their meetings. First I've heard of it. I can't help but wonder who was for and against this move?

Oh, Lordie, Lordie, whatever are we going to do? What with those evil Syrian Islamic terrorist 5 year olds strapped in bomb vests arriving by the plane loads in New Orleans even as we blog. True. I saw it on an approved non-liberal site.

10,000 of them. No wait, 200,000 of them will soon be scratching at your chamber door in 2016 because B. Hussein Obama plans to leave us with his Madras learned FU America as his parting legacy. Woe is us.

We need Jesus more than ever because without him all we have to protect ourselves with is our massive personal firepower in Glocks and Ar-15s. Will that be enough? I think not.

Let us prey.

I can't believe this is the "first you've heard of it'. The lawsuit dragged on for months and was well-covered in the Times and other outlets. The plaintiff was /is Carole Beaton.

I'm well aware of the lawsuit and have commented on it here before (in favor of ending the prayers, btw). This was the first I'd heard they decided to end invocations on their own.

I suggest mandating their Oath to the Constitution before each meeting.
Their job consists of protecting the Constitution, not "trends".
By the way, the Constitution was created to protect Liberty. Liberty is freedom with moral compass. The 10 commandments is the ultimate, written in stone, word of God. Liberty, with morals.
Religion has twisted, but God hasn't. Either follow Liberty, or move to a country that worships government.

"the Constitution was created to protect Liberty."

Fraid not. The constitution was a flawed document, hence the Amendments, written by flawed men.

Liberty, as you evangelize it, was never intended for the black slaves, white non-property owners or the indigenous peoples in this sacred constitution you wet yourself over.

207, your education is prejudiced & twisted.
The constitution is perfect. It's the interpreters who pervert it to suit their own agendas that is flawed.
Retread the documents as was intended. All persons are sovereign individuals with unalienable rights.
No man has the right to take away another persons right.

1:40, freedom without moral code, moral compass, is anarchy. Anarchy is ruled by the biggest club, toughest group, or strongest bully. There is no freedom where anarchy rules.
People who combine God and religion, are off the mark. Even God hated religion. Religion is man's interpretation of Gods word. Man made rules are in contradiction with Gods main rules of true Liberty. Those who hate God hate Liberty. Those who love government hate Liberty. Liberty is self governing.
