Legalized Prostitution Rejected By Judge
A judge has rejected the arguments brought in a lawsuit against the State of California asking to legalize prostitution., Calwatchdog reports.
This really irks me. How a judge can say people don't have a right to be sexually involved with whomever they want and under whatever terms they want, is beyond me. But, as Richard Rider (past Libertarian Party gubernatorial candidate for California) points out in his comments to the story, the judge's decision might be considered proper in regards current California law. It would be interesting to hear the specifics of the arguments made.
I still think there's something to be said about human rights which include one's sexual business and the State should stay as far away as possible from interfering with that.
This does go to show, though, we shouldn't count too much on people's rights being defended by the courts. If this judge thinks people shouldn't be allowed their voluntary sexual relationships, what else would he support restricting?

Someone pointed out in the comments to that story it's legal in New Zealand and some counties in Nevada. i've heard it's legal in Belgium or one of the other Low Countries, but I'm not positive about that.

Mea Culpa, I was on lunch break and didn't take time to read that article. Now that I did, it sounds like Switzerland, and some counties in Nevada are legalised. Does this mean they pay taxes in the U.S. ? Why was it made illegal in the first place?
WTF? Obviously, women are allowed to abortion but not to have sex?
Is it not prostitution by the effect of a gut and gak on a date, guy buys dinner and a good time in exchange for sex.

A good idea is for each person to pay their own costs on a date. That way no misunderstandings or false expectations can develop.I came to this conclusion after also noting that some men expect sexual favors in return for money spent on a date.
