About Jill Stein

Politico has  nice article on Green Party presidential candidate, Jill Stein. It even includes mention of the Libertarian Party's Gary Johnson. Even Humboldt's very own, David Cobb, gets a mention. I was surprised to learn he was the one who came up with the "safe state strategy". I'd only heard of that in libertarian circles previously:

"Cobb pioneered a “safe-state” strategy—hunting only for votes in deep blue and deep red states, thus successfully protecting the Greens from the “spoiler” label. But he wasn’t successful in winning votes, garnering only 120,000 votes compared to Nader’s 2.9 million.'

What that means, if you're not aware is that you can vote freely for third party candidates states that re considered "safe' for Republicans or Democrats. For example, there's no Question Clinton will win California, so you're not messing her up by voting for the Green Party. I had no idea Cobb came up with that. He never mentioned it to me

It is so bad in California, the only reason repubes still exist is because of how gubbamint is set up to be represented by candidates from a two party political platform structure.

Repubes are a faux chess piece in the Golden State.

If repubes + Bernie supporters + independents + libertarian + green voted for Gary Johnson, Hillary would lose.

Problem is repubes are repulsive liars too, just like Hillary.

Why would Libertarian's want to vote for a party who seeks global dictatorship? Every one of Jill's keynotes comes straight out of the UN global plans.
Wolves in sheep's clothing always promise jobs, sustainable living, smart growth, globalists, collectivists, ...
Come on Fred, wake up.

The only 3rd party I would vote for is Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party. He is more libertarian than the Libertarian's ever thought of being. Instead of creating more regulatory agencies like Gary & Jill both drool over, he's for abolishing the Nannys completely.

I followed the "safe state" strategy prior to Cobb talking about it. Other people did as well.

I voted for the Green candidate when it was certain that the Republican candidate had no chance of winning.

I stopped doing that when the Green's ran Nader.

Realistically, we are stuck with a two party system for the foreseeable future.

Voting for a minority party means that you risk having the major candidate party you would most dislike gain office.

Work to get the candidate who most represents your interest in the primary and then vote to protect your butt in the general.

Gore wasn't pure enough for you? How did you like Bush's Iraq war?

Bernie had a better set of promises? With Clinton you stand to get some progress, with Trump you stand to get screwed.

The next president will largely determine the makeup of the Supreme Court for the next couple of decades. Want a Court that takes away people's right to choose and turns corporations into super-citizens with rights exceeding those of us two legged types?
