Planks and Partisanship

The Libertarian Republic web site points out Republicans don't mind Democrat positions and platforms when they come from a Republican. They point to Ivanka Trump's speech calling for gender wage equality which brought applause from convention delegates: "Ivanka Trump used debunked liberal stats and talking points to make a case for the federal government mandating “wage equality.” She talked about the supposed “gender wage gap” and how her father was going to fix it. Whereas Republicans traditionally oppose government wage controls and are usually quick to point out that the “gender wage gap” is not supported by evidence, last night the GOP sheep bleated and cheered for heavy-handed, top-down, liberal economic policies." One of the fellows at the Libertarian National Facebook page suggested earlier this morning if Trump delivered a Clinton speech he'd likely have gotten a standing ovation. I suspect he's right. That's how partisanship works much of the time. No concern for issues, just the party and its people.

Yup. Conversely, Obamacare was originally a Republican health plan. The same one that Romney had in Mass. when he was governor.
But, when Obama,a Democrat, proposed it, or anything else conservative in essence, the Repos call it "socialism" or "communism" and fought it tooth and nail. Over 50 votes in Congress to repeal it. This is what they do with their time. This is what taxpayers pay them to do?
This is why Republican Party IS the party of "NO".

Besides that, there's the so called "liberal media" criticizing Obama because he doesn't try to make nice with Republicans more. Chuckie Toad on MTP one of the worst.
Goes to show how wired for Republicans the Washington villagers are. Is John McCain on again this Sunday?

However, Trump does not seem to be the typical partisan Republican. In fact, it appears some Republicans do not support him because he cannot be bought.

Nailed it. There are 3 liberals running against 1 conservative, & the media is so terrified of the 1 Conservative they refuse to give him attention. (Darrell Castle). He's more libertarian than Johnson is, even though he's not libertarian. He is a Liberty warrior. No government involvement in your life. You will be free to self govern finally.
People are too afraid of self success. They'd rather group in parties so they can blame others for their failures.

I believe even the late Harry Browne advocated subsidized private insurance for individuals when he ran for president on the Libertarian Party ticket way back whenever.
