UFOs

It always irks me when someone asks "Do you believe in UFOs?". Stupid question as someone would have to be a fool to say there's no such thing as Unidentified Flying Objects. A better question would be if one believes extraterrestrial craft have visited earth. Earth Sky News comes to the rescue with a list of what many UFOs really are. No alien spacecraft on the list, unfortunately. I have seen a number of rocket launches and airborne missiles. They can be baffling if you're not used to seeing them.

They missed the most often misunderstood UFO sighting. I've seen a gazillion UFO videos recorded at night with a bright light nearby. An insect flies in front of the field of view (appearing as nothing more than a tiny white object) and the Youtuber declares a flying saucer flew through the sky at lightning speed and made turns impossible with any human technology known today.

Precisely, Fred. Your intellect is showing 😃Also, in the comment section of that article someone mentioned LED lights attached to the top of kites as another example.

Neil deGrasse Tyson gave a great response to the question about believing in UFOs. It's called an 'argument from ignorance.'

UFO's and Extra-Terrestrials are for real.

How else can you explain Trump?

Never, ever talks about his mother, except to say: "She was Scottish."

Uh huh.

"Beam me up Scottie"

seen just about all those in pics on the article , but what i saw in ukiah around 1971 was different so i am a believer .
midnight walking on dark road east of ukiah and saw bright light above . ok , thinking chopper but no noise . saw light descend east till below cow mountain horizon and then get real bright and then go out . just standing there waiting to hear noise it got bright again then went straight up and gone . and still no noise . was nice summer night and long before i discovered alcohol .

I'd say that would show Tyson's ignorance. "unidentified" flying objects exist, at least until they're identified. Just because they're unidentified doesn't mean they're extraterrestrial, which is where this issue get mixed up. It seems common for people to equate an unidentified object with an alien spacecraft which isn't the case.

I've seen one UFO that had me stumped for a while. Years ago, above SE Eureka, one day I saw something way up in the sky, pretty much motionless. It looked roundish so would fit the description of a 'flying saucer" It was up there long enough I was able to get a pair of binoculars and determine it was three helium filled mylar balloons tied together and floating around.

They were unidentified until I used my binoculars, so I can say for certain that UFOS exist, at least until indentified.

"Extra-Terrestrials are for real."

I never claimed extraterrestrials were real, or that UFOs wer alien spacecraft. The opposite, actually. I do think there is compelling evidence from years ago that we were visited by aliens in the past- ancient drawings and sculptures, for example.
