Back To That Gay Wedding Cake Thing

Just in the news is a gal who went into an Albertson's market in Louisiana and asked to have a birthday cake with "Trump 2016" written on it. The baker behind the counter wouldn't do it. Should government have forced her to?

Of course not. What agency would enforce such laws?

Any business venture is subject to the hidden hand of the market. Gay haters probably flocked to bakers who wouldnt serve cakes to homosexuals and liberals will probably flock to the place that denied Trump.

You'd think that when people start refusing to do things like that, you'd get the hint there's something seriously wrong with your political viewpoint... but I think Trump supporters are immune to hints.

Not for any reason. All businesses have the right to refuse service. Most have the decency to post who is not allowed onto the premises. Public services is different, they do not have the right to refuse service, as we all have pooled together to hire those ... those ... employees.
Private business owners set their own rules, not their employees. If my employee pulls a stunt like that, that employee is fired on the spot. It's MY store, not theirs.
If I have a phobia of purple ladies in elephant suits wearing a monkey cross, it's my right, as a business owner, to post that I do not serve purple people in elephant suits who pray to invisible monkey's up their hiney. It's their job to respect that & take their business elsewhere.
It's my loss. I could really use that customers money for some therapy, but until I have the resources needed for such luxuries, that sign will stay posted on my door.
The nig black hole ain't so big once it's acknowledged.

My feelings exactly and that it's the right of association andn non- association at stake here.

I do give the girl involved credit, though. When refused service, she moved on. She didn't try to force herself on the bakery girl any further.

You're right Fred, That gal, accepting the rights of others, is what our country was founded on. You do your thing, I do mine, & as long as your fist stops short of hitting my nose, we will all enjoy our liberties.
Quite a difference between the authorative left and the rest of the citizens.
