Who Cares About Accepting Election Results?

On the subject of presidential debates, I don't really get all the apparent shock over Trump saying he might not accept the validity of election results unless he wins. So what?

I realize we're all supposed to have faith in our electoral system, but so what if some guy says he doesn't? I'd say there's a lot of truth to what Buchanan wrote: I've heard news casters express fear that people might lose faith in government:

As Pat Buchanan points out:

"The establishment is horrified at the Donald’s defiance because, deep within its soul, it fears that the people for whom Trump speaks no longer accept its political legitimacy or moral authority."

"Establishment panic is traceable to another fear: its ideology, its political religion, is seen by growing millions as a golden calf, a 20th-century god that has failed."

Over at the Future of Freedom Foundation, Jacob Hornberger seems to feel the same way:

"I just don’t get why the mainstream press and Hillary Clinton are so outraged over Donald Trump’s refusal in the debate last night to accept the results of the presidential election in advance. What’s wrong with waiting to see if an election is crooked before agreeing to abide by its results? Or are Clinton and her acolytes in the mainstream press suggesting that the United States, as the exceptional nation, simply does not have crooked elections, like unexceptional countries do?"

Let me make it simple for you:

A candidate that does not choose to recognize the judgement of the people may decide he or she is justified to take power by other means.

Far fetched? Perhaps. Even Donald Trump is not that far gone (perhaps).

But what about the more "dedicated" of his supporters?

A candidate is supposed to demonstrate leadership. Both when the candidate wins and takes office; and when that candidate looses and retires from the field.

If that candidate fails in that leadership duty then that candidate is responsible for the chaos that follows. The next four years are going to be rough enough as it is without Trump followers using "Second Amendment Solutions" to get their way.

Trump is such a surrogate.....

All he had to answer was,"if the election results are validated as authentic, then yes."

Simple and logical....

election results in the US have ALWAYS been questioned. That is what make democracy legitimate. Only brain dead genital obsessed Hillary supporters could ever apply such backwards tweaker logic. To many artificial hormones and soy in their diets.

It matters because of the Trump supporter talk about there being a revolution if Trump isn't elected. The man is playing with fire considering the nature of his most rabid fans.

At the debate, Chris Wallace didn't accept Trump's first brush-off and expanded the question with historical background so that Trump would understand and not turn his initial flippant remark into a huge controversy... and Trump then doubled-down on his flippancy. That's why the issue is so important, because Trump can't claim ignorance about what he said or claim people are taking his comments out of context. The Fox debate host tried to rescue Trump and Trump doubled-down on evil.

i think they should wipe the slate clean of ALL registered voters and then require anyone who wants to vote re-register IN PERSON .
that way it should eliminate all those dead people from voting and make sure only citizens get to vote .
i know , its fantasy but i would still like to see it

My fantasies involve beautiful women. Your fantasies include purging voters. Whatever gets you off buddy....

Years ago I mailed some post card brochures to all the registered libertarian voters in the county. Probably half came back as undelivereable due to bad addresses, or whatever. I decided to clean up my registered voter list so took all the bounced cards into Elections.

I'm not sure they used my cards, because they did a general purge of voter rolls anyway- getting rid of invalid addresses and such.

That operation cut our registered voter list in half and I was sorry I came up with the idea to begin with. Looked like LP in Humboldt was shrinking rather than growing.

When the media actually reports on this in one fashion or another every day, is our first clue we're being played. They already have the UN trucks parked and ready to go. It will be monitored and handled by the Saudi's, iow.

There ain't enough rigged votes in America to give Trump a victory.

Trump dug his own holes with his hipocrisy and inability to stay on message......no one is perfect, but ya win first, then go after winning over the disbelievers later with court threats....

Trump is up to something ulterior, no doubt.
