Jeff Sessions Wins Appointment to A.G.

Damn! Jeff Sessions was confirmed as Attorney General with what seems like hardly a whimper from The Left. The Sacramento Bee has the story. This after all the angst and gnashing of the teeth over the nomination of Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education whose sole crime seemed to be believing in school choice, something it's questionable whether she can actually do anything about.

I received umpteen e-mails from the deplorables over at Daily Kos urging action to stop the DeVos nomination but few, if any, over the Sessions nomination. This is not good. Shame on the Democrats for seeming to allow Sessions to sail through the process although, to their credit, only one Democrat voted for him.

The left is powerless these days. They are wasting all of their political capital on fake liberals like hillary Clinton, fake protests like the women's March and fake news like Russians messing with voting machines.

The Republicans were able to stick together and stop Obama. I've got a feeling that the Democrats are to scattered and focused on silly things like transgendered bathrooms instead of focusing on helping the lower and middle classes thrive.

Thats what the Democrats get for railroading Bernie Sanders and running Ms. Republican light.

Don't know why you saw more opposition to DeVos than Sessions, I saw plenty for both. Democrats were very vocal and engaged in opposition to Sessions, drawing attention to his horrible record on civil rights and civil liberties. In case you missed it, in an unprecedented move, Elizabeth Warren was banned from speaking because she tried to read a letter from Corretta Scott King in opposition to Sessions (which kinda backfired on the GOP as it only drew more attention to the letter, which other Senators then read into the record and which went viral on social media). So it wasn't a question of Democrats "allowing Sessions to sail through," they just don't have the votes.

The responsibility for the travesty of Jeff Sessions as AG lies squarely with Trump, the GOP senators (and one Democrat) who voted to confirm him, and the voters who put those people in office.

Fred what news sources do you consume?

There was huge outage over Sessions. Elizabeth Warren was officially silenced in the Senate for trying to read a relevant letter about the man from Coretta Scott King. Other senators eventually, sneakily, read it into the record. Protests and defiance from senators and the general public don't count for anything in your view? Huh?

Why do citizens allow unconstitutional power to rule over them?
Sessions has authority to control the foreign commerce, not the domestic commerce. Drugs coming across the borders is foreign commerce issue. The govt has constitutional authority to secure the borders from products and people entering illegally.
The Patriot Act is unconstitutional, for many reasons.
It is constitutional to raid the borders, it is unconstitutional to raid homes & business es without due cause and a warrant.
The supreme court can only form opinion, they cannot make law. The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the land, not the laws or courts.
Sessions needs lessons as much as the rest of the citizens who pick & choose which laws to follow.
Congressman Massie is submitting one sentence Bills left and right, to get our government back under control.
Forget the he said she said divisioning distractions. While we argue, the rights of the people are being destroyed. Need an example? Fine. Kansas case, Keppler & Cox. The State made a law then refused to protect the citizens who respected the law. Entrapment.

Hmmm, tell that to the guy who shot his gun in his own yard directly into the turf.........cops come in with a warrant to search inside the home......all because a leftist mexicani complained.

Complain about guns, get the red carpet treatment by gubbamint......white guy with a gun is the enemy, apparantly.

I love how MLK's niece is scolding the politicians about using the gret man as a racist tool for their game. She reminded them not only of the top NAACP awarded Sessions & the Rosa Parks Library Sessions got going, but of the letter her Mom had written later apologizing for her previous letter (the one Warren flaunted), which was written before knowledge was at hand. She also reminded them about MLK,'s concerns about immigrants taking all the jobs.
Sessions has a good heart, he's a good man. Not too many politicians out there willing to take down the KKK in their state like he did. Very admirable man.
My only concern, is he seems to think the SCOTUS is the supreme law of the land. Jeff, is stubborn, but hopefully the Epiphany will come soon, about the Constitution having the supreme honor even over the courts.

HOJ, that's happening because of the unconstitutional & unpatriotic Patriot Act. Join others who are trying to get it abolished. Ron Paul, Rand Paul, etc.
To be honest, though, in that particular case, I don't know if a warrant would be required or not. I should do some studying.

You'll know more than HOJ but HOJ points out how a search warrant for some thing outside is cause to "go inside"......afterall, insideis where personal belongings, legal or not, exist......while outside in the ground lays a bullet and a shell casing because the homeowner admitted to causing noise to scare away a predator animal........

Gubbamint uses bullshit scenarios to go into the bedroom.

They had probable cause to search his residence without a warrant if they felt there could be danger to other inhabitants in the house. Did he give permission for them to search? If he gave permission, no warrant needed.
So far, that's all I've found on it.

Bullshit, all facts were known to be "outside only".......to be a treasonist cop and judge opens them up to murder.

The homeowner did not give permission, hence why a warrant was attained.......the coos wanted to abuse the law to go into a dwelling.......the warrant was illegal.

Hope the judge gets murdered.
