Sheriff Downey Retiring

Bummer to hear Humboldt County Sheriff, Mike Downey, is retiring in May. Our loss, his gain. Godspeed to him in his future years. He's recommending Undersheriff Honsal  take over his spot. I'll accept Mike's judgment but Honsal has some big shoes to fill.

Fred supports ridiculous full pensions after 20 years of service, overpaying public officials who waste tax dollars on bearcat vehicles, too many cops on the ground, iffy policies for killing mentally ill people while wasting tax funds, lying about vehicle color change effects to waste money on new squad car purchases, wasting money on satellite buildings, wasting money at the jail while people die, etc...but hey, good job, here ya go, enjoy the pension, goodluck...turnstyle cha ching🎰🎲💰

Check out the department budget and ask yourself, was that necessary.

Then, configure a national estimate of "unnecessary spending"..it adds up.
